Product Fails:Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain v Clinique Chubby Stick

(Colours in no way representative of how these turned out on my lips)

I have a confession to make. I don't actually like either of these products in the slightest. In the space of a week I managed to amass the Clinique offering and the Revlon dupe. Once again I'd been duped in to buying the dupe whilst having the original in my grubby paws. The reasons i don't like either of these products however are very different......
.
Clinique Chubby Stick- Oversized Orange -£16

At £16 this is not a cheap option. OK the lid is silver as well as the base but apart from that the packaging is identical to the Revlon offering. Lids aside lets talk about the good stuff, or the not so good stuff in this case! This stuff just doesn't show up on my lips and the only time it does is when it has smeared around my lip line and i look like a child that has just eaten spaghetti bolognese. Classy. This doesn't feel moisturising and in all honesty feels a bit gritty so doesn't even serve as an overpriced lip balm.  Maybe it would be better suited to the name 'optimistic' orange or 'overpriced' for that matter......

Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Lip Balm Stain- £7.99

A milky peach i hear you cry, get me some of that i'll even have it sent from the USA! What is there not to love about that? This was my thinking until milky peach turned bright pink and everybody thought Coco was in town. Oh the shame. I slapped this on and my first thoughts were good, a light peach tint, a light mint fragrance, a subtle tint and nothing had petered into those lines in your lips you didn't realise existed. Half an hour later my boyfriend turned to me and asked why my lips were so pink. Pink? He must be colour blind, mad or just delirious. I have just applied a delicious milky pink to my lips. The lady doth protest too much. As i slyly slip my mirror from my handbag i am greeted with a hot pink mess just a few days after the orange disaster. Now I've heard good things about this but what ever ingredients are in this did not agree with the PH balance in my lips. You have been warned.... approach with caution and monitor with care.

Do you love or loathe these products? Let me know below, I'd love to know if anyone has had the same experience!
